So a while back I saw the Draw this Again! Meme [link] and I did a DA search for my most popular pics and one that came up was the lush, but inaccurate. Through virtue of being there first it has a lot of momentum & favs. I'm talking about [link] which has a lot going for it, but I'm a better artist now so there you go.
There's a lot about this piece that's consciously good. First from the original you have the chest facing one way and the head turning the other which is classic when it comes to flirtiness and just basic good controposto. The detail and proportion are much improved and spot on. I did the thing I usually do which is reference the hell out of the anatomy, but this isn't static or inanimate. It captures a liveliness while remaining hyper-detailed; dynamic, but specific. As with the original you have depth with limbs coming towards and moving away from the viewer. Did some adjustments with the costume which is inspired by the most recent 52 revamp of Wonder Woman. The shoulder straps are a practical addition, the steel toe Doc Martens are definitely easier to fight in. The bicycling shorts are a fuck ton more practical in a fight than the easier torn off thong or panties. (How come no one's done that to Wondy? In the billions of fights no one's gotten an incidental hand hold on her magic panties and torn them off? She's just that good of a fighter that she can fend off Darkseid or any of the other world beaters? Unlikely.) The bracers have recurring harmonies of the double W which I'm sure Proj Rooftop would poo poo. Whatev's. The whole ensemble down to the hair is a return to the original look at her inception and it's sexy too which Moulton Marston (that delicious perv) had to be going for. Finally the hair braid is a carry over from The Purple Avenger. Braids are great! They take the place of a cape, they can be intricate or simple. You have the repeating heart shape which enforces ardor. The placement of the braid reinforces the harmony of the leg line, leads back to the breasts & head, creates movement and is perpendicular to the shoulders/arms. Good spotting.
Anyway, here you go! Enjoy.
Btw check out the blue line work in progress; [link]
Nice work here, you can really tell that you slaved over the details.
One minor point, she's not wearing steel toe Docs, those are just a regular soft toe, steel toe boot are very bulbous - that said they look excellent. A lot of artists really mess up on the clothing/accessories details, and that can really spoil a picture, your very well done boots enhance rather than detract, Adam Hughes' art is a perfect example of that attention to clothing details. At a quick glance one might think yours is a Hughes piece, can't think of a better compliment, great job.
Yes, it was a beautiful work! I think it's pretty cool. It's one of your works I like most, with her. I thought of Ultimate, because of their boots like captain America. hehehe
Hehehe, yeah for sure! Some things don't make much sense! This reminds me Anne Hathaway's cat woman,Like a thief acrobat, why she will use a high heels boots?
